This time the grafted dual-color plant I saw was an azalea. This was in Fairfax, Virginia. Simply lovely.

It’s common practice around here to graft a branch from one tree to another to create bi-colored flowering trees. It’s common, and yet I’m always intrigued when I see one.

I have switched up my morning walk before work. I was walking south down the Columbia River. Now I walk north most days. This is the view I have now. Honestly, I don’t know why more people don’t do this, but I really like that I have the whole thing to myself most of the time.

Also while in North Carolina, a friend of mine took me to Lake Crabtree where we had a nice meander all over the place to the tune of about 4 miles. It was a lovely day and we happened upon a group of people competing in a radio controlled sailboat race. They were very competitive. And a little shouty. The boats were fun to watch, though.

Another picture from my walks in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina during a recent business trip. Between my hotel and the meeting site, I cross a little bridge with a lovely creek. It’s a very pleasant sound and sight.

This is my first attempt at writing a post via the iPad app, so forgive me if this is wonky. I am on business travel in North Carolina and had time to walk along a trail in Research Triangle Park. It is so very different than walking a home, where I can see for miles. This stand of pine trees is smack in the middle of RTP.
