Another installment of…

An actual conversation of a married couple:

Me: Your whack-job cat has decided her new favorite place to sleep is in front of your laundry hamper.

Him: I know. That’s why none of my clothes are in the hamper.

Me: That’s why? What about the clothes that are in the dryer?

Him: They’re stored.

Me: But I need to use the dryer.

Him: You can take them upstairs. That wouldn’t be a problem.

Me: Good to know.

I can’t choose

Another water iris has bloomed and the color is so intense and gorgeous that I’ve decided it’s madness to try to decide which is most beautiful. This is just as it’s finishing opening. The deep purple contrasted with the yellow pollen and chartreuse leaves is simply stunning. And as you can see, there are several more waiting to bloom!

Contender?

Perhaps I spoke hastily. I recently declared that I had the world’s most beautiful iris in my yard. But then this one bloomed in my pond (it’s a water iris). It is very lovely and this is the first year it has bloomed.

I wish in this shot the depth of field focus was better, because I didn’t even realize the damselfly was there until I looked at the photo later. I was so focused on admiring the flower!

At work we have a small solar array that provides power to one of our buildings and also powers a charging station for electric cars. We have a fleet of small electric vehicles used by the maintenance crews, and employees with electric cars can use the charging stations for a modest fee. Plus, solar panels look cool.
