Garlic in the pond?

I never thought I’d put a garlic plant in my pond, but I did. It’s called “society garlic variegated (Tulbaghia violacea ‘variegata’)” and the flower is a delicate thing. I loved the way the lilypad in the background made for an interesting effect here.

Damselfly

I adore the large dragonflies that flit around our pond, but I’m equally a fan of the delicate blue damselflies. They seem particularly drawn to the water iris leaves as a place to perch.

Balanced

I left my camera set up outside one day, and my husband captured this lovely image. The blue dragonflies are the most common to see in our yard, and they certainly love to perch on the tips of plants.
