I think something is wrong with my float.

Cave Frog likes to be all the way out on the lily pads – but he weighs them down a bit and gets a little flooded. He seems okay with it, though.

I’m Cave Frog, no matter where I sit.

It’s a good thing Cave Frog already had a name by the time he started sitting in the plant pots all the time. I’d hate to have named him Potted Frog.

it’s pretty easy being green, actually.

Eyeballs has some seriously good camouflage happening here. I was rather amazed he let me take this photo – because we were out by the pond when he popped into view and I didn’t have my camera. My husband got up and walked slowly to the house and retrieved it, and I set the tripod on the coffee table to get the shot. Why he didn’t move or get startled through all of that I have no idea, but I’m pleased with the result.

Lily pads sometimes are precarious perches.

I spotted Cave Frog on this lily pad near the skimmer – and I got one shot. He then slipped backwards into the water and swam away. I assume the slipping was on purpose, but I’m not entirely sure. Nonetheless, I’m happy that the one shot I managed turned out.

It seemed like a good day for another archival photo of Brave Frog. I do wonder where he went. I also want to know how big he’s gotten and if he’d still be able to sit on a lily pad. Hope he’s doing well!

Don’t mind me; I’m just another green thing.

It’s interesting that Eyeballs tends to hang out in the lilies with just his head showing while Cave Frog likes to sit on top of the lily pad instead. This makes it very satisfying when I spot Eyeballs and even moreso if I can get into place and get a close shot from in front. He was very patient during this session.

I am not a cliché.

Imagine my excitement – I step outside and glance at the pond and right in the middle out in the open AND on a lily-pad sits Cave Frog. I never expected he would stay there while I got camera and tripod and took pictures, but he did! He also managed to look dignified. What a great frog!

Is this my good side?

Cave Frog has been quite accommodating recently – staying put while I spot him (don’t even need binoculars because he’s so out in the open), get the camera, set up, and snap photos. Glad he’s sticking around and learning how to be a proper frog model.

Yes. Fine. I will smile for the camera. Maybe.
